Patient Counsellor
The Patient Counsellor will counsel patients on recommended ophthalmic surgical procedures — including cataract surgery, LASIK and other refractive procedures, and retina and glaucoma treatments — addressing concerns, explaining lens/technology options and costs, and supporting conversion from consultation to surgery scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel patients and families on recommended ophthalmic procedures (cataract, LASIK/refractive, retina, glaucoma), including lens/technology options, costs and process.
- Address patient queries and concerns — including fears around eye surgery, lens/IOL choices and post-operative expectations — to build confidence in the recommended treatment.
- Coordinate with ophthalmologists, optometrists and front office for surgery scheduling, pre-operative workup and documentation.
- Explain lens/IOL upgrade options (monofocal, multifocal, toric) and package inclusions to support informed patient decisions.
- Track and follow up on pending conversions (cataract, LASIK and other eye-surgery leads) to improve surgery conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and counselling outcomes.
- Ensure a positive, empathetic patient experience throughout the counselling journey.

Candidate Profile
Candidates with prior experience in eyecare/ophthalmic hospital patient counselling (cataract, LASIK/refractive, or related surgical counselling) or sales-oriented patient-facing roles in healthcare, with strong communication and empathy skills.
Qualification & Experience
Graduate in any discipline; 2-5 years of experience in eyecare/ophthalmic patient counselling, optical retail, or healthcare sales.
